Single-Vehicle Crash Seriously Injures Fairfield County Man, State Police Say

The crash took place around 3:12 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, on southbound Route 8, near Exit 22, in Seymour, when Brian Vincent, age 52, of Shelton, lost control of his vehicle, said the Connecticut State Police.

According to police, at the time of the investigation, the weather was clear under daylight skies, the roadway was dry, and traffic was moderate and moving at a steady flow. For unknown reasons, Vincent lost control of his vehicle, veered right off the roadway, where it struck a metal fence and a utility pole. 

The vehicle then rolled over and came to rest on its roof.

Seymoure firefighters from Citizen's Engine Company No. 2, said when they arrived on the scene, they found that. Vincent appeared to have been ejected from the vehicle and required immediate medical attention. 

Vincent was transported to Bridgeport Hospital by Shelton EMS with suspected serious injuries, state police said.
